Mouth Culture Release New EP 'Whatever The Weather'
Today, Mouth Culture release their ‘Whatever The Weather’ EP via InVogue Records. The five fresh tracks are a vibrant representation of where the Leicester trio - vocalist Jack Voss, bassist Todd Groome and guitarist Mason Clifford - are at and where they’re going. Lyrically, they represent a realisation of the power you have when you just let things take their course. "The titles of these two EPs we have done (‘Whatever The Weather’ and 2023’s ‘Mishaps Of My Mid Twenties’) are very self-defining," Todd explains. “With 'Mishaps...', it was about these things that we all go through and are just a part of life. 'Whatever The Weather' is more about dealing with that stuff and making it positive. In remembering that these things we do are a part of life allows you to understand that you can cope with them and overcome them, no matter what."
As well as featuring previous singles ‘Everyday’ and ‘Dead In Love’, this release contains three brand new tracks including a new single in the bold brashness of ‘No Shame’, complete with crisp percussive elements, record scratching and confrontational lyrics. It’s a fresh spin on a plethora of influences, demonstrating the breadth of the band’s musical scope. Mouth Culture say “‘No Shame’ started as a rant about a friend after our new years party. Everyone’s got that friend who has a few and then says way more than they should. Some people go through life being that friend. It felt good to vent about it over an instrumental that was inspired by seminal bands like Refused. Mouth Culture’s first riff just arrived and I’m here for it.”
